Re: best race tire?

Dan welcome to the forum. Post some pics of that great machine you bought. Why not run the bighorns and beadlocks that came on your buggy? I had great luck with bajacross tires on my RZR-S last year. They are heavy 8ply but wear like iron. The bottom picture is them after 900 hard miles.

Re: best race tire?

Since you said you were looking to run moto-cross tracks, the holes shots will probably be your best tire for that. I'm basing that statement on what a lot of guys run on mx tracks and have good success and how POORLY my desert race tires did on those tracks. The bigger tires like Maxxis and Bajacross tires is that they have a good deal of rolling weight/inertia. And as MX track racing is usually cornering and acceleration, you want a tire that can be spun up a little faster than those heavier tires. And the hole shots have a good grip in all directions due to it's tread design. Again, most guys running mx tracks and even Lucas Oil short course stuff on UTVs are using those hole shot tires. SEem to be working well for them.

But guys racing desert are going for the heavy duty Maxxis big horns or the Bajacross tires as they are strong and good grip in all terrain.

So..........that's my 2 cents.
