Re: Used Redline Sales weak

I think that the lack of interest is due in large part to the offerings available from the other mfr's. There's some hot new cars out there. I think the single seat seems appealing, but functionality quickly makes a passenger seat desirable. The huge number of good researched, developed and mfr'ed parts by the aftermarket has always been an area the Redlines suffered in.

That's why they couldn't make it, the demand was never there. They didn't do their homework when they decided to start a factory. To make matters worse, Polaris & Cat could build side by sides faster and cheaper and afford to get components in large quantities to get the price breaks. Redline never had the capital to do that. Now that they're out of business they have the lack of parts availability working against them too.

Re: Used Redline Sales weak

Here's a POV from one of the buyers in this market: there is a temporary down cycle as the new machines are pretty interesting.

However the Redline Revolt's will likely remain an attractive niche vehicle as long as parts are available and people remain confident they can keep them running. As far as I'm aware it's pretty unique in that it is single seat (just a cooler feeling to drive), has massive suspension travel and is relatively inexpensive. I was considering the new Maverick but an OTD price of $16 to $17 k is 2X or more of what a low-hour Revolt is. I will hardly use mine so expect I can get quite a few years out of mine and even if I eventually by a SXS (in retired years?) it'll still be really fun to have given it's niche (I'm thinking it won't ever seem outdated).

In other words keep the faith...we may have a Delorean on our hands, but even Deloreans are considered cool cars that maintain fans and buyers.

Enjoy!

I would say being on the West Coast (northwest) that your Revolts went up for sale at what would be considered the end of the riding season here and we are just getting into the start of the season. I wouldn't expect much action on a Revolt during the off season in our neck of the woods. Heck, if I didn't just buy a new RZRS for the wife, I'll be all over that black Revolt...

Every time we're at the dunes someone chases us down and they always ask the same question: "What is it and where do I get one?"

I would think they'll sell before the summer is out....

Re: Used Redline Sales weak

I think they cost to much for family people and in general it is hard to sell stuff. I watch craigslist all the time and I sell my things once and awhile. It's just to hard to sell anything right now unless its a fire sale. It being a single seat makes most people with a family rule it out. And why buy one and sink 10k-20k in it when you can buy a used king car for around the same price.

Re: Used Redline Sales weak

Also to consider the price on utvs like rhinos rzrs rzr-s's and teryxs have dropped alot in the last year. A rhino is going for 4500 and up a rzr is 5500 and up and a rzr-s is 7500 and up. I bought my 2010 rzr-s for 7500 bucks now consideing a revolt is a single seater its going to be a hard sell above the going rate of a sxs these days. You could probably part a revolt out for more cash then it will ever bring together.
