Exhaust needed

I'm looking for an exhaust system including stock Y pipe for my buddies NON turbo Revolt. Don't want it loud though. We went on a ride today and he had a custom built Y pipe on back (from previous owner) and it cracked and cracked and cracked till it looked like wild animals chewed it till it broke in half! Long story short I think we need a Gibson set up I hear they are quiet. I have a modded stock exhaust with 2 outlets on my turbo Revolt and like the sound of it. It's quiet! You guys think we could run a stock set up with the 2 outlets on a non turbo car and still have the power of the aftermarket ones? Let me know your thoughts. Anything else out there? thanks, Ken

Re: Exhaust needed

My riot (same motor as revolt) ran great with a stock motor and modded original exhaust and was pretty quiet. Probably wont be as quiet on the stock motor as your turbo motor though because the turbo knocks the sound down quite a bit.

Thanks Harper, I kinda think the modded stocky is the way to go. Thanks, again Ken

The Gibson is the best out there for performance and the quiet sound. Its also the most expensive. The next best is the stock system with 2 outlets instead of one. No packing to mess with and it will sound great. There is one on e-bay under Redline Revolt.

Correct, Gibson muffler has no packing. Gibson has the pat. on their muffler design. You will have to call Gibson direct for a price. They no longer list them on their web site but will make it special order I have heard.

You will still need the stock Y-pipe. All the aftermarket systems use the stock Y-pipe to mount to.

Re: Exhaust needed

Gibson stopped making system for Revolt. So what's involved in modding stock muffler? Mine was done when I got it. Thanks Ken

You will probably need to cut the right end off the muffler and remove the broken baffle that is rattling around inside the muffler. They all do it eventually. Then weld the end back on without the baffle inside. Then you can cut a 1 1/2" hole beside the existing outlet to add another 1 1/2" outlet to make 2 total. You can use the piece of 1 1/2" tubing that was in the removed baffle for you 2nd outlet. Weld it in and your done.
