Re: Crash victim/Organ donor

I got a fuel tank with brackets for sale.
Did the hit rupture the tank?
Was the driver injured?
How about needing a frame?

Re: Crash victim/Organ donor

RippenRick I will propbably give you a call in a few days once I am done with my doctors appointments, to talk a little further. I have a call into Red Rock to see what he has for it as well. Maybe between everybody on here and him I can piece this thing back together for a fair price. I did get hurt in it. Got a badly bruised left foot, and 5 stiches in my right elbow from hitting the speedo bezel and it is brusied pretty bad, bruised ribs on the left side and my right shoulder muscle pretty good that I have to see a surgeon about tomorrow. All in all it could have been a lot worse. The right upper shock mount is now where the gas tank hole is on the hood. Where the bottom lower control arm mount is, it rolled into the fuel tank and has is distorted. It is not leaking but it has to be damn close. Hit pad enough to shear the left rear seat bolt out, make the motor move enough on the mounts to break the nipple off the fuel rail and twist the cage up into the roof area even. I hit at about 35mph would be mybest guess. And to answer Rengadevtwins question, yes I need a frame it is wasted bad. I am up in the air still rather I want to fix it or part t out, it only had 219 miles on it.

Dang... Good to hear your not seriously injured. I hope the right shoulder comes out OK.
What exactly did you get yourself into to cause that kind of damage?

Hit a tree about 12 inches in diameter. The tree won!

Re: Crash victim/Organ donor

Ouch! The immovable object scenario. Trees hate everything that moves.
I have never seen anything(outside of a Tank) that wins against a tree.
That being said. I think the car did quite well.
I'm glad you didn't say "I just flipped it"
That, would make me nervous.

Re: Crash victim/Organ donor

LOL would have made me nervous too!! Basically the right upper shock mount is where the gas cap use to sit when you put the broken hood back on it. So the frame is hurt bad!! It needs a frame, there is no fixing this one any more. It actually took the hit good as far as the injuries I sustained. A little farther in on the frame on the right side and my leg could have been SERIOUSLY injured. I was surprised it twisted all the way up to the roof area on the cage and the entire base of the frame is twisted under the seat as well. I was surprised to find it hit so hard that the left rear seat bolt sheared in half that hold the seat to the bottom of the frame. Sucks that I found out that I have a torn rotator cuff today and I am going to need surgery in a couple of weeks.

Re: Crash victim/Organ donor

Well I think I have made the decision to part the car out. I have a bunch of other projects in the hopper and i do not feel like digging for parts and spending the time to rebuild this one. Think I may just buy another one in the future. If anybody needs parts post a reply and I will give you a price. I should have the car completely ripped apart by next week. Thanks
