I'm watching your results Cheryl as well.... That was biggest complaint all MX season long last year!! Jumping like a frog, bumping my butt!! The front bumper made a great plow as well!! On hard pack it eats the cool R aluminum plate of the bumper!!

Re: Fox coilovers vs. King coilovers Vs. Elka

I just talked to a few reps from Fox Shocks today at a Marine Corps expo I worked and they make a really nice 2" coil over with high and low speed compression adjustments and adjustable rebound. The new Robby Gordon 4 seat RZR is going to have them. The longest travel they have is only 10" now but set up with Springs and everything they retail for $550. The 10" might work for rears since the body is longer and a 8" or 9" might work for the fronts.

I don't know the particulars, But....
King has a Coil over/Bypass (Coilpass)shock that covers the Single shock rule & will give you the performance of a coil over & a bypass set up. Two for One!
I believe this might be old news, but this is the first I have seen of it.

My guess is a new shock mount will need to be made a little higher up.
Something to look into.

The Elka gets my vote. A bit pricey but a good product and great customer service as well.

Re: Fox coilovers vs. King coilovers Vs. Elka

I just bought a set of stage 4 Elkas from sandracer1 anxious to see how they work. I need to build some new upper A-arms in the front because the springs hit the arm and it will not work.

Re: Fox coilovers vs. King coilovers Vs. Elka

I used to race class 8 and trophy trucks in Baja, I can tell you without hesitation that King shocks oare the best! All three are quality products with good customer service and support. I have worked with marking from fox and Brett king. both great guys. We ran Fox shocks for years but always had problems. We would litterally melt the parts inside of them! We switched to King shock and never had a problem. Elka also makes nice shocks for smaller applications like ours but cannot match the racing experience and knowlege of the other two. All that being said. These are all good shocks.

Never tried using this brand, but I have tried elka and fox. Honestly it looks nice, but on how it performs that I have to feel and see.

Re: Fox coilovers vs. King coilovers Vs. Elka

I think King has won more championships that any other shock maker to date. For off-road they can't really be beat. Fox has stepped up but only after King has dominated the industry for so many years. Not only can you buy pre-built styles, they also offer made to order, so customizing is not a problem. If you would like chrome or black shock bodies and different color components, go online & order up.
