Watching those Wobbly Washers

I was just cleaning and servicing my Revolt today. I've been invited to a Car show on the 22nd. So lots of metal polish and tire shine work for me.
Wile moving the Revolt around, I happened to notice that the upper A arm rod end was loose, on both sides.
I had Red Lock-tighted them on and torqued them to 80 ft/lbs., last fall.

So how could they be loose?

Like the rear axel nuts, the washer squished out from under the nut. Each one is cupped. What's the fix?

Grade 8 hardened 5/8" washers, to replace the grade 5 ones.
Price $4.50 from Lowes.

Re: Watching those Wobbly Washers

Yep.........sounds about right. After every race, I have to tighten about every nut on the rig. I continue to improve and locktite everything......so each race it gets less and less!

Check the long bolts that hold the steering rack in place! Not the ones at the rack so much as the ones about 4 inches down from it holding the bracket in place. Until I tightened hard and loctited them, they came loose every race.

You are absolutely correct. We replaced every washer on the suspension with grade 8. Redline factory should take note, the factory installed washers appear to be too soft.
