Window Nets

Ok I've come to the conclusion I can't go any further. The first issue is that if I weld the buckle on the bar there is no way I could get it in the net. Second they are not the same side to side. On the top of the nets the loops that holds the bar has the loops closer together than on the left side than on the right. I do believe I can make these nets work but I will need a spring loaded upper mount due to the fact the net is too far up to use the buckle latch system. I put all the pictures on the forum under my page. Any Idea's.

Re: Window Nets

I think if you weld the buckle where the front zip tie is it should work. Here is a pic of my Redline nets

Re: Window Nets

Jeff,
I won't be able to use the buckle even if I trimmed the tab down and was to weld the bar to center of the buckle there is not enough clearance due to the nets being to tall. Also I did a dry run and once it is welded I would not be able to get the bar in the loops and the left side loops are closer toghether than the right

Art,
The loops are closes together on the left than on the right

Re: Window Nets

You could weld it in the net but I'd probally burn the net. They are suppost to be designed where you weld the bucke and tab while off the net then slide through 3 of the loops then stretch it over the other loop even on the good side theres not enough clearance plus I still have the length problem. I'm going to use a spring loaded bar. This will not be afected by the net lenght I will be able to get it closer to the roof actually.

Re: Window Nets

After eading the tech rules you can use hose clamps to attach the rod on one side if needed. Thats what it says. some of the guys nets on the bigger cars dont even come down. They have the roof on a hinge that opens.

Re: Window Nets

No there isn't enough room. I think I'm just going to use one of the spring loaded rods, I also think it will look alot cleaner.
