Re: First Run on the Redline Revolt "Black Widow"

Thanks for the reply Pilot. Good to hear about the sensors. I don't claim to be the fastest out there but we are all racers at heart and it is always fun to find out who is. I was always curious about how the R&D was going with your set up but never seemed to see any details. Good to see it working out for you guys. One day I may make it out thay way and ride some of the big dunes. OK I will ask again, I would be real curious to hear what your primary clutch and secondary clutch set up are. Last time I asked it seemed to be too personal. Any chance you care to share just to see how different we are and maybe something different for me to try as a starting point for a combination. Take it easy,
Todd

Well the last time you asked about the clutch I think I told you that ours were stock except for the weights and I think I told you that 50 grams was too much and that 45 grams was not enough and that everybody is different. Thats still the case. Our secondary is bone stock. Our primary Comet's are bone stock except for the weights. I'm running Supreme tool 40 gram base. We also have Thundershift weights in other cars. The Supreme tool weights are not actually 40 grams to start with. I think these are what you said you are using. Mine weighed 41.9 to 42.1 in reality. I ground them down so they all weighed 40.6 grams each. At the present time I'm running 46.3 grams per weight. Most of the weight is on the heel and some in the middle. The Thundershift 40 gram weights only weigh 37.6 grams each to start with. You can move the weight around more on these to get up to the 46.5 range. Like I said we are all a little different. We play with the weights for different conditions but mostly for the last year we have been developing our fuel map in the AEM FIC to gain better air fuel mixture. We have got it adjusted really well now. The only trouble with the ECU that you and I are running is the extreme rich air fuel mixture. You can easily fix it with the AEM. Its one of the few programmers that can take fuel out. Later, Dave

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Queen Racing RZR Xp turbo ran neck and neck and perspective tells the tale! Lol we can double check that next trip. However, drag racing aside, yes, you whipped the Shiite out of me on trails!

The fastest Revolt was the Queen Turbo but I'll definitely bow to Sandracer and Jetrench for dependability! I did actually make it out two times and it hauled itself back both times which is progress! I still pull 12 psi boost with a damn manifold that looks like humpy dumpy after the fall! I hear Pilots advice loud and clear ringing in my ears! .125 thick tube! I got it! Lol I can't wait for a dependable 20 pounds of boost! Only got one run of 18 psi as the damn manifold was cracked a bit before run 1.

As for Red Rock Powersports I'm a customer and friend for life. It's a damn shame that the economy tanked and Mike doesn't have as much time as he used to. He hasn't even got to ride himself in two years since our last race as he's too busy babysitting folks like a lot of us through our crazy builds! no need to throw rocks! I've had to go outside of his parts once or twice myself, but I always go back because his countless hours and advice on the phone are priceless and I'd rather go back than pay for mechanic advice on the phone! Lol

Peace Brothers! We're a community of gear heads! It makes us hard headed and individualistic! Which is how we like it!
Ronny, you need .150" wall tubing according to tests by some pretty smart dudes! I do have a good used FST stock cast iron manifold that Mark can modify to fit your big turbo if your interested. $50.00 and its yours! Good luck anyway.

Thanks Pilot. I want to mess around with my stock spring in the Comet and had some issues setting it up with it. The info you gave is more detailed than before and should be more help this time. Thanks a bunch.
