Re: New engine

I'm sure the gearing wasn't the problem. We had to change the secondary clutch spring to get the rpm's up from 7000 to 8000 and if it was too low gearing it would have been over spinning the engine. It still was slower than our stock Weber 750 normally aspirated Revolts. It was way slower than the turbo charged Weber Revolts.

6 years later... LOL. Gearing would be to low for that engine/horsepower. I'm planning a Arctic Cat 1000 twin (2 stroke) conversion in my Riot with different gear box.

That is what I am thinking. Even more so if it a 2 stroke. Mine is 120-130hp and you definately know it aint stock. Night and day difference!! But if those pipes are wrong you have the same problem.

Re: New engine

Whats the hp on the snowmobile motor? I think you gave up too soon. Is it a 2 stroke?

I can not get the snowmobile engine to go any better then the Redline engine. I have changed the spring in the second clutch and it changed the RPMs about a 1000 RPMs. I put a couple set of pipes on with not much luck. Now put the Redline engine back in.
If you want I will make you a deal on a snowmobile engine.

Re: New engine

I have not had the buggy out. It is running, and working on the clutch. I can only get the motor to turn 7000 RPMs so I will be getting lighter weights this week. We also had to loose the vacuum fuel pump that comes with the snowmobiles and added a low pressure electric pump.
