Re: Riot Technical Issues

The Gorilla tape would be good to put in my servival bag. A tool bag I have under the hood.

Right you are offroadpro,

You know what they say, " Cleanliness in next to godliness," or was that " Cleanliness beats the hell outa a frozen CV joint from a boot filled with dirt?"!?!? Or something like that.....LOL

Re: Riot Technical Issues

nice..... cleaning out the boot to make sure it sticks and putting that tough tape over the hole should work better than the plastic bag thing.... or maybe doing both.....

Re: Riot Technical Issues

Just an FYI on the boot hole.... I use Gorilla tape, it is duct tape from the folks who make the Goriila glue you find at hardware stores. No affiliation to the axle folks I think. That said, I ran two different weekend MX races with practices as well while waiting on new boots and they lasted the whole time.

I also have a small hole in my right rear CV Boot. Redline is recommending replacing both axels since there was a problem with the splines on some of the early Riots. So I will be doing that as well (or if I can't, bringing it to a dealer). There's a good chance I may post a message asking if anyone has instructions when the time comes. I will most likely wait to replace the axles until after the Thanksgiving trip to Dumont, incase there is any setbacks replacing them.

A little bit of a rocky start, but I appreciate that Redline stands behind their product.

Hopefully, I can post some nice photo's of this thing attacking the dunes.
If you are planning on riding it with the hole in the boot, cover it... youll be amazed how fast it grows and how dirty it can get your motor....

I got one like that and it left a mess....

If I were you I would put a plastic shopping bag around it and tape it at both ends.... it will save you some time on cleaning.... and at least try to leave the sand out.... even touhg somw how it always get everywhere.....

I'll drop in and say hello. I will be the one in the black Riot. It would be great to meet some other folks with Redlines.
