Re: Project "Get Some" UTV!!!

Rick Dude,

Yes, I am going to use the stock weber motor.

BITD will allow up to 1000cc's. But anything above 800ccs will be subject to a weight restriction (some weight value above 1400lbs likely). If you stay with 800ccs and below, I'm not sure what the weight restriction is. I have a call in asking that.

As for SCORE, there is no motor limit because they don't technically have a UTV class. I want to say that they put the utv's in their smaller 1600cc rail class. But not sure. I am hoping eventually they put together a true UTV class with set rules. And it would likely be similar to BITD (800cc limit). So my planning is to stay under 800cc's. I think the more UTVs they get racing their races the more likely they will create a UTV class.

Re: Project "Get Some" UTV!!!

four by,

We are considering building a Race Riot so that we can also compete in the true UTV races. We would build a full tube frame and then use Riot panels.
Do you know what engines are allowed in the SCORE and BITD race series?

Are you planning on running the stock Weber?

Thanks, Rick Dude

Unfortunately this is the BEST time to go riding in southern Arizona!!! But I am pretty sure I will be working on it into next Summer as well.

Project "Get Some" UTV!!!

The time has come to build a BITD and SCORE race legal UTV based on a Redline. I plan to take my Revolt, take it apart, build a stock based Riot chassis (that meets SCORE tech), put the Revolt parts onto it, and race it in the big daddy of them all.......Baja 1000! But every dream has to start small and gain momentum. So this one starts with an empty garage bay and a fully functional Revolt! (See pics below).

Some might wonder why I think this will happen this time when the last one did not. Simple.........I know what is required this time for the chassis to pass SCORE tech..........and I'm not doing this for anyone but myself. IE: No one can yank the rug out from under me once I get started.

Tubing is on it's way. So in the coming weeks I will start laying out the chassis, bending tube, etc. I will also start tearing apart the Revolt. Stay tuned for updates as I progress. I suspect it will take me at least 8 months to build this (possibly longer). I will post updates as I make them.

Here are the starting pics for now:
