Re: Want to get a Revolt XL, but worried about sourcing parts...

Thanks Mike (Redrock) for the fast service on the throttle cable. I just finished installing it. I've always been able to find all the parts for these Redline cars from Redrock or Weberpower and there is always someone with extra parts for sale like myself. I sure miss my car but I still work on them all the time for my buddies.

I dont have much trouble finding parts, especially right now, pretty much everything is available. Mike at red rock has access to pretty much every part right now. There are only a few things on the Revolt that are Proprietary, Frame, Plastics, Front spindles, and Transmission, and you can get an aftermarket RPM Transmission that is almost indestructible.

Unfortunately the parts are hard to find.

New to the site and very interested in one of these , but like the OP , am concerned about parts availability. Pilot, thanks for your reply. That is good to hear.

Re: Want to get a Revolt XL, but worried about sourcing parts...

Thank you Pilot for the good info.. "7 years of ownership and always found any part.." is what I'm needing to hear.. I didn't know that Redline didn't 'make' anything- that goes a long way to making parts easier to source now that they're gone.

I know about the tranny woes.. I'll almost certainly end up installing an RPM unit as over time I'll morph it into a desert racer, and I'll need the reliability..

I've been elbows deep in a bike-powered street car project for the last 5+ years, and as that winds down, I'm planning to jump back into offroad soon-- I've been doing research, looking at the Ace 900- seems not enough car there for me; and these many years later I find I'm back on this board looking at Revolts!..

thanks again for the info..

Re: Want to get a Revolt XL, but worried about sourcing parts...

I see you've been a member of this forum for over 6 years. In that time I'm sure you've been reading the threads about some of the problems that Redline owners have faced. Redline didn't make anything in house. The parts were out sourced from other companies. All the engine parts are still available from Weber. Most of the other components on the car are still available either new or used. The gearboxes have been a problem for several owners that race these cars off road and others that run theirs hard in the dirt and also in the sand. There are a few used gearboxes for sale now and then. The other option is to go to the RPM gearbox as a stronger replacement. These are readily available new. Many parts are still available new from Speedwagon also. The body panels are basically not found except for used or possibly from Speedwagon. I have owned my Revolt for over 7 years and have always found any part that I have needed.

Want to get a Revolt XL, but worried about sourcing parts...

Hey guys-

I'm looking to buy a Revolt XL, but I'm wondering about Redline being out of business, and any "Unobtanium" parts as a result?

For my part, I have strong fab skills, but going in, I need to know what parts of this car are vulnerable and are hard to replace/ source? (I don't mind substituting generic parts in like switches/latches and such when needed)

This is not my first off road car, and I'm not worried about normal wear items of course.. If I needed to, I could fab up/ fix something like a trailing arm or a bent cage, but it's the very specific bits that are the unknown for me.. things like hubs/spindles/bearing carriers and the like?

So in short, any bits for this car you simply can't seem to get, or are very difficult or expensive to get?

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input and experience
