I thought I read they were 2 1/2" Those mufflers are sure nice but spendy little buggers. We thought about putting them on our cars but now with the turbo's they are super quiet. Major Mayhem has a complete Gibson set up for a RSR-S for sale. Later,Dave
You actually read right...I also read that and was told by Gibson it was 2.5" pipe prior to ordering. Turns out the mid-pipe is 2", but the muffler inlet is 2.5" - maybe that's what they were talking about...just a little deceiving, I think.

Re: Questions on Buying Exhaust for the Revolt

The Gibson does not have packing which is a plus but mine falls apart about every 2 races.. They do have a newer bracket system that should help but I am not to impressed with its overall quality. It blew out the Spark arestor last weekend so now its not desert or forrest legal.

Re: Questions on Buying Exhaust for the Revolt

I have a complete used Gibson exhaust. About 8 hrs total on it. Selling it for 200.00. I will be using a different engine and it will not work on mine.

Yes I do Have a Big Gun Fuel Programmer, but I just can figure out how to set it up right.... I think Jetrench knows how to program it, but we were having way to much fun at Little Sahara and I forgot to ask him to set it up....

I am pretty sure the programmer was set up correctly when it was purchased.. This is one of the only two 2010 revolts out there and I was told by Mike at redrock, that this Revolt was ordered with all the stuff on it... So in a Nut shell I have no Idea if the Programmer is set up right... I have the Instructions, but they are confusing...

I was never good at reading instructions...LOL

I love Sandracer1 and Jetrench's Turbo set up... They left me in the Dust at Little Sahara... I think I am going to keep mine stock, to avoid any problems...I just want a reliable buggy...It only had 13 hours on it when I got it last month, so it's still like brand spankin new...
Pipe needs a Dura pack in it. It must have had an original std packing in it and not the dura pack. Big Gun has come out with it for longivity and durability and is now std in the Revolt and Riot pipes that they produce. Call me and I can fill you in on it.

The only thing that happened, is that I burned up all the Packing in the Big Gun... I bought some new packing while we were there and it Burned up again two days later... At this point I have decided to get a new muffler...

My question is--- Do I have to buy a whole new complete set with the pipe and a can, or will just buying a New Can ONLY and slide it right onto the pipe from the big gun?

I was told the TWO BROTHERS exhaust works, also the Gibson.... Why couldn't I just buy any other brand and just slip it on......

Any Ideas?
The Gibson muffler doesn't use packing so that would solve that problem and it is very quiet also. It would need some welding to adapt it to the mid pipe. I think it would be better to buy the whole system and sell yours because the Gibson also uses a 2 1/2" mid pipe and I think the Big Gun is 2" like the stock mid pipe is. I'm not sure about the Two Brothers. Do you have a fuel programmer? You may be running too lean and that burns out packing fast. The Webers do burn a lot of packing out when running hard. The Gibson muffler itself is over $300.00
