Mick, oil pressure in the engine is the pressure in all the oil passages that feed oil to all the bearings etc. that need oil to live. The crank case pressure in the engine is from the pressure generated by the reciprocating parts rotating and from cylinder pressure going past the piston rings and the heat inside. The turbo is adding to all this by raising cylinder pressure and returning hot oil from the turbo to the crank case. Our cars did it before we put the turbo's on.

Yup, they all do it. We drain our plugs after every weekend. I actually cut the wire insulation just before the plug so most of it comes out there instead of in the plug.

Re: Generator electrical Plug

There is an old thread about this. It seems that it is common on all the stator engines.

Re: Generator electrical Plug

The turbo will increase the crankcase pressure. Causing the weak links show up.
Many have changed the vent going to the air box, and/or decreased the total amount of oil. This has stopped the oil from causing the MAP sensor to fail. I believe crankcase pressure is the culprit here.
There are only two ways for the crankcase to breath on the Weber. The small 3/16" pee trap line from the back of the motor to the oil reservoir or push past the scavenge pump and the oil cooler back to the oil reservoir.
Catch cans are a fix, but what's pushing the oil up to the catch can?????

Re: Generator electrical Plug

My Riot does that too - and I don't have a turbo...

Re: Generator electrical Plug

I believe the Weber does not have sufficient crankcase ventilation, with oil pushing through electrical wires clarified my thoughts.

Since my turbo upgrade I have noticed oil running out of this plug when disconnected. Any ideas ? increased oil pressure maybe ? This seems strange.
