Frank, the part number radiator hose that we use is 20475 Gates. It has a real tight 90 deg that we shorten and hook to the 1 3/4" turbo inlet. Its long enough to go up or to the back of the car. We use a silicone 1 3/4" to 2 1/2" out of our air filter.

Marc,
Thanks for the reply. I ordered a 2" Vibrant this morning. Will see how it fits. Dismantled the car this morning and Jeff is painting as I type. Hope to have it running soon. Waiting for Red Rock or Wasteland to reply about reprogramming the ECU for the turbo application.

Jeff had a 3 1/2" filter on the buggy with an aluminum step reducer we are going to use.
I got that one a few years ago from spearco intercoolers who has been purchased by Turbonetics. I checked their website and was not able to find one. I did find the ones that Vibrant sells and they look to be the same thing that I purchased years ago. The one that I have is 2 inch O.D. The 2 inch would probably work, the turbo that we put it on was a garret GT12 which is quite tiny. I bet it would be fine if you cut off you intake flange for the inlet, but if you can by a radiator hose or slilcone tight 90 that would probably be a little bit easier...

I am going to look for a tight aluminum 90. Vibrant sells a 2". Where did you find it, is it a 1 3/4"? It looks like a cast aluminum.

We just found a 1 3/4" radiator hose at the auto parts store that had a tight 90 deg turn in it and cut it down to fit and it works fine. Yours looks a lot tricker than ours does though. We have an increaser hose in line to go up to a 2 1/2" air filter.

Just be careful with the assembly of the seals on the compressor inlet. I have seen them wiggle out of the correct position during assembly and then get sucked into the compressor wheel. That will ruin a turbo in a hurry.

Not enough room to weld a tight 90 to the inlet? It does look tight...

Here are a few pictures from a Turbo Charged quad that I worked on. I actually cut the compressor inlet down in a lathe and then welded on a tight 90.
