Re: Broken Control Arm Don't forget to pull that shock apart & check for a bent shaft, damaged seal gland/guide & an out of round or damaged can. |

Re: Broken Control Arm Ouch! The stock arms are CrMo steel also. Have your fab shop use a thicker wall or a larger diameter tubing. |

Broken Control Arm Now that my Redline has the new Yamaha R1 Motor in it, I let the Horse Power get the best of me. I was trying to go through the big deep whoop-De-Doo section at 60mph where I should have been going 20. It was all working out until I let off the gas to slow down. The front end dug into an especially deep whoop and the result was a broken Left Control Arm. Never Fear! I contacted Dusty at DcKustom dckustomfab@yahoo.com and he is building a new set and a spare set out of much stronger Chrome-alloy. He has made the jig and has all the geometry worked out. So, if you find yourself in need of a set of stronger front control arm, give Dusty a shout. I am sure he can get you a set made up pretty quickly. |
