Yes it did make a difference. I noticed it ran better at high altitudes. (6,500+) and at high RPM. It spools up quicker to redline. Wow, a Redline at Redline!

I used silicon hose, made for turbo and supercharges.

Try this web page ...

Intercooler Pipe Fabrication - Silicone Intake Systems Auto Parts

Fast shipping and they take Paypal. They are in Colorado.

If you connect two hoses or bends, you will need coupler sleeves and clamps.
The factory plenum has a 2.0" ID and a 2.5" OD.

Re: This should make it breathe.

Thanks for the info! I might try the double filter but route it higher up because of our muddy conditions out here.

Hey sc revolt,

We ride only on sand and mostly at the Oregon Coast. For our type of riding the two air filters bolted directly to the throttle bodies works perfect. Lots of power and the plugs look clean. Gone is the rich burn with sooty black plugs. We also opened up the exhaust by taking out baffles and adding a second outlet next to the stock one. I think Bearfoots intake is also quite fine. It probably is more appropriate for a desert/ dusty environment. Also cool air to the motor is always good.
Over all I would say that any way you can get more air into the motor would be a good thing.

So Bearfoot and Klemdotter, did those air cleaner mods help, hurt, or status quo?

The intake system we came up with worked fine. Even though the outerwears did not show up, the filters did not get clogged with sand. I believe if you monitor the filters and do maintenance on a regular basis there should be no problem with plugging.
I do not believe your system caused your rich problem. A good flowing intake would do just the oposite. Problem is most likely with the MAP sensor. We have the diagnostic program and it will tell you if there is any problem with any sensors. I highly recommend you get one.

Re: This should make it breathe.

The sand blasters are perfect. the car had no trouble spinning them. We could climb any hill that I could climb with my raptor 700. Although the speedometers seemed to be somewhat erratic, Dave's did register 63 MPH on the flats. The tall tires and big paddles help. Once they hook up the acceleration is awsome...

The paddles are Sand Tires Unlimited 26X12X12 with a comp cut. We left the #2 paddle.
How did your Sand Blaster 26's work out?

That sounds about right. I think the opening is 2.25" to 2.375"
Jeff, glad to hear you had a good ride.
