Re: Koh 2010
Hey guys, I'm Len Damouth the driver of the redline pitbull buggy. Just want to thank REDLINE for the chance to run such an awesome utv in a tough race. As the driver of pitbull buggy we knew going in with a 2wheel drive buggy, we had our work cut out for us, but running the pitbull rockers and putting them on the the riot we had a great match. The riot compared to any one of the utv's out there, was the only one in moreless stock form. All the other utv's were very very highly modified, our biggest mod was putting a set of the new PITBULL 26.5 rockers on, we also had a desert racing front bumper from Cowtown and a full set of skidplates and thats it. As for holding one utv up on sand mountain we did do that, put it only took us 7 minutes to winch a 2wheeldrive half way up and then were able to drive the rest of the way, but no ones talking about the 3 4x4's that were hung up in the rocks in the easyer pathes, and we had to drive around them, check youtube for one of thos, But from the driver seat that was our darkest hour "sand mountain hour" most of the time it was game on! the riot was able to drive through the whoops and sand and extreme rock challeges like no other out there by the first check point we were able to pass 3 other full race utv's that had left two positions ahead of us. By the time we hit sand mountain the lead guy was in sight. In prerunns the day before, we were amazingly able to drive the riot to the top even tho when we looked at the mountain and had our own douts, but the the rockers hooked up and drove us all the way to the top in deep soft sand with giant bolders just waiting to shut you down, but during the race so many other cars rutted it up and with people every where on the rocks added even more of a challenge. But still hats off to redline on the riot and thanks to Mike Green pitbull tires for backing us all the way. We did end up blowing a hub on a really mean whoop that did take us out 3/4 through the race, but we had already made it through all of the hard rock coarse, and were headed to the finish line. One really cool thing is we prerun the complete track one and a half times and raced the hammers on with the same buggy and the same set of pitbull tires! when most of the other teams had fresh cars and new tires, so to REDLINE and PITBULL you guys both make one HELL of a product and ourteam was honored to get the chance to race such great equipment! in a very extreme race like KING OF THE HAMMERS! Game on and can't wait to get to the next race! and yes we have more races to come! To you riot owners you guy have an awesome utv and a great company to be proud of! Go USA!
