How does the Riot stack up against the revolt

I realize the Riot and Revolt have the same power plant. I also can see the obvious weight and size difference. How does it stack up at the Dunes. Oldsmobile... and flat drag. Has anyone ever tried it. How does the Riot stack up in the Dunes against the Rzr-s?

Re: How does the Riot stack up against the revolt

You'll find many threads in here by Riot / Revolt owners who upgraded from a RZR. I myself raced a RZR-S and switched over to the Riot due to repair costs. Racing is hard, especially motocross, on any SXS. The bottom lin is the Riot held up much better and ultimately cost me thousands less to keep running or upgrade.

Re: How does the Riot stack up against the revolt

I've had the oppotunity, several times, to drive the Revolt, the XL, and a Riot both in the desert, short course, and in the dunes. Let me start by saying that the Riot, with a set of paddles, goes anywhere in the dunes that you want to go. And it can out run the RZR-S and others like that. It's a lot of fun too, because you can take a buddy. And I've driven all over the dunes in a Riot even with the stock tires. Takes a little more careful planning when cresting dunes and such, but it does well even stock!

But it weights about 300 lbs or so more than the Revolt. That's quit a bit when you figure my Revolt weighs 860lbs after all mods I have made. I will say that the Riot feels sluggish compared to my Revolt. I spend all of my time racing and dunes and such in a Revolt. So..........of COURSE a Riot will feel that way to me. I would say they are totally different feeling rigs. Both still a lot of fun. You can't go wrong either way.

I really liked the XL, almost better than my Revolt! I liked the longer wheelbase and it seemed to handle better over whoops and such than my Revolt. Even though it is a little heavier than my Revolt, I didn't notice it as much.

In general, you can't go wrong with any of them. Here is a short blip on how I see them:

Revolt: The fastest of the Redlines. Handles great and fits like a glove.
XL: Second fastest of the Redlines. Seems to handle a little better than a Revolt due to longer wheelbase. Fits taller folks and is more fun to "share" with others at it fits everyone.
Riot: Faster than any other stock side by side out there. Has more versatility in all terrains. Not as fast as the other two. But you get to take a friend.

So...........decide how you want to use it, then get one!

Re: How does the Riot stack up against the revolt

Thank you. You answered all my questions at one time the way I needed it spelled out. Great and Thank you again

I found a good deal on a Revolt. I am only 5 ft 4" so the XL isn't needed.

Re: How does the Riot stack up against the revolt

Anyone ever raced a Prowler XTZ. I have had mine to 80 mph stock, just kind of wondering how the Riot would compare in power. I love how the Riot looks but have not seen one up close. They look like an awesome machine.
