More Riot Questions

Finally getting around to starting to work on the Riots I bought. Found a few intresting things and have some questions:

1. On one of them the plastic coolant expansion bottle has been removed. The ports in the head have been plugged. Why would someone remove this? Doesn't it need to be there?

2. What is a good recommended intake set-up? One has dual k&n filters mounted right to the intakes. The other one has the stock plastic intake plenum with a homemade snorkel run up above the oil reservoir with a single k&n.

3. Finding lots of little issues to address on both. But it is good to get to know these for when I need to make repairs on the trails.

The early Riots didn't have the coolant bottle at the rear of the car. Those were put on soon after they went into production and needs to be installed. They were not plumbed into the bleed holes in the head from the factory. Many have done that though to be able to get the air out of the system after draining the coolant out. We tried running [email protected] filters directly on the throttle bodies and it worked good but was noisier in the driver compartment. The stock air intake plenum is better going up to either a [email protected] or the stock Donaldson filter set up. The Revolts had a single [email protected]
