Thinking about purchasing a Revolt: pro -vs- cons

Any input would be helpful. Are they reliable? Any common problems? Warranty issues?

I have 1700 miles on my "07" no big problems. The warranty covered a few small things, like a fender and oil hose. I'm still running the stock/factory belt.

Red Rock Rails did a valve adjustment, a wile ago. It wasn't out much.

The stock tires wear quickly, so I put on some Maxxis Bighorns.

Bear Foot, did you have the update done on the ECU and the throttle stop installed? Sounds like the oil hose has already been done. lol....

Yes the ECU was done. It helped with cold weather idling. It also seemed like it had more power.
The throttle stop is done too. It keeps the peddle from getting stuck behind the steering rack. That could be bad.

My oil hose sprung a small pin hole leak. I talked to a local hose supplier, he told me it happens all the time. It was a manufacturing flaw in the hose.
Redline got a bad batch of hose.

Re: Thinking about purchasing a Revolt: pro -vs- cons

according the guy I got the Revolt from said (he seemed pretty knowlegdable about it) that there was 2 gen's of 07's. The 1st gen's needed the update on the ECU, oil hose & throttle stop. The 2nd gen's already had the updated ECU, oil hose & throttle stop done. The Revolt I got is the 2nd gen 07.....can any one chime in and tell if this true...

Do you have a fuel guage in the dash and a black fuel tank?

Re: Thinking about purchasing a Revolt: pro -vs- cons

I have never heard of a 2nd gen '07 or a serial number break that would substantiate it. I can tell you this- My '07 is #167 and Bearfoot is #175 and both required the updates. I do know that the '08's had the necessary changes made and didn't require any of the updates that have been mentioned.

What kind of problems did you have with the Riot? I am looking at buying very soon and would like to hear about any negatives with this machine.
