vetting new members

Good morning, I'm sure by now everyone is as sick of these BS posts as I am. I'm wondering if it's at all possible to subject new members to some sort of vetting process before they can post anything. Just a thought.

I agree, this forum is becoming almost unuseable!!!!! These robo spammers have to be stopped. If everyone would just open the spam post when they first see it and click on the ! at the top right of the post, you will then get a screen to report the post as spam and an administrator will remove it and ban the sender.
You are correct though, it would be better to stop them before they can post and clog up the forum with all this bull shi##.

BAN ALL SPAMMERS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great idea! Maybe charge a small registration fee.

Is there any way to reduce the 200 second waiting period between reporting spam?... at that rate it would take over an hour to report all of the recent spam!

Re: vetting new members

We've added a couple of things to the registration that should cut the spam down and hopefully stop it.

Great, thank you for adding those. I'm quite sure everyone on here will greatly appreciate that. Let's hope it eliminates them completely.

Re: vetting new members

Well by the new BS posts I guess the new measures didn't work. Maybe we should go back to vetting new members before they can post anything. I also think a small fee to join suggested by dre31 is a fantastic idea. How about $10 per year or $100 for a lifetime membership. The proceeds could b donated to a charity.

Even a small fee would have stopped me from ever joining this forum. I've never paid for access to any forum and don't ever plan too.
