Rpm axles

Probably going to use my rpm box instead of getting a stock box, does anyone know where I'll have to send my axles to get cut and re welded with a new flange or where I can find flanges at? Already have them on the box just need the axle side flanges, also anything else that I will need to know or watch for when converting to the rpm box? Thanks!

Re: Rpm axles

RPM had to modify our cv's to bolt to the RPM box. You will need to buy Gorilla axles that have double plunge CV's like the stock Riot axles or buy Riot Gorilla axles and have the length modified for the Revolt. Easier to just buy new Gorilla's for a Revolt. Then have RPM modify the inner CV for the RPM box unless you already have that part for both axles.

Is it true that the stock gearbox does not have hardened gears?

Re: Rpm axles

No, the gears are hardened in the gen 1 gearboxes. They were not as good as the gen 2 though. They were much better. Wastland had gears made that were closer to the gen 2 heat treated gears and put them in gen 1 cases. I call those either gen 1.5 or Wastland gear boxes.

Re: Rpm axles

You could have the factory 1.5 gen. They did produce some early 08 XL and Riot's with better heat treated gears in the gen 1 case. If your case has allen head fill and drain plugs that have metric screw threads it's one of those gearboxes. The later 08 models had gen 2 gearboxes with square headed pipe thread plugs for the fill and drain holes. !/2" pipe thread for the fill and 3/8" pipe thread for the drain plug. There are other differences in the cases but that's the easiest to see. The gen 2 boxes are the best of the factory units.
