Re: Stuck Primary Clutch

Make a new puller. Impact gun has to have at least 800 to 900 lb.ft. torque. Impact in and then hit the end of the puller with sledge hammer.

Re: Stuck Primary Clutch

Well, thats probably a first. Now you'll have to take a sawsall and cut the hub off between the clutch and the bolts that hold the hub on the end of the crank. You can buy a new hub from Randy at Weberpower. If you can't get the piece out of the clutch you'll need a new clutch. There is a clutch bolted to a bad crank on e-bay for 200 bucks. If you can get that clutch off you'll have the hub also. Several of my buddies have had to cut the hub off but they didn't break the puller. They just couldn't get the clutch off. They tend to weld themselves on over time.

Re: Stuck Primary Clutch

Got clutch off. Now looking for A39 arms and weights for clutch. Also a spider removal tool will help. Also a new movable shieve would be nice. Clutch number 217600C.

Re: Stuck Primary Clutch

I have 3 arms A39 gram with new bushings installed in them. $38 bucks including shipping. I have a spider tool also that I built several years ago for the Comet Pro 4. I don't need it anymore. A friend is using it now to repair his extra clutch. I'll have to see if he is done with it. I would sell it also. Not sure yet on price. If you need the sheave also you might be better off to just get a good used clutch. The one on E-bay is still on there still on the bad crank for $200 or best offer under Redline Revolt. It says its for a 800 so the guy doesn't know anything about Redline Revolts. If the clutch is good that is a good deal. The new sheave would cost more than that.

Re: Stuck Primary Clutch

There are also several brand new Comet 108C 4-Pro 217--- series clutches for $250 to $285 on E-bay with free shipping. They don't come with the spring or the weight arms but you have those.

I need 4 A39 arms, 4 bolts and nuts, 8 slider buttons and 8 cam arm plastic shims. Spring looks like a Silver one but not sure.

Re: Stuck Primary Clutch

As I already said, all I have is 3 of the A39 gram arms. You will probably be better off buying a rebuild kit from Comet or from Mike at Redrock if he is still a dealer. He might have the 4 arms you need also. All the pieces you need will probably add up to more than a rebuild kit.

A little FYI. About the guy selling the clutch with a bad crank on eBay. I bought one from him on January 30th and he and I talked a few times on the phone then he dropped off the map and I have not been able to contact him since. I'm getting a refund through eBay. If he ends up contacting me I will post it on the thread I started here in the general revolt section of the Forum
