Does anyone know how much a new RPM gearbox costs setup with CVs for a Revolt?

I am wondering How much a new RPM gearbox costs? I am wanting to know about one that has all the mods you would do to put it in a Revolt. CVs installed and the input shaft support installed. Is there anything else Dan does to build a box for a Redline Revolt? I have tried to call 323-343-4544 from the RPM website several times and have never got a return call or have anyone answer.

He doesn't have a modification that will work with the Revolt axles. The mod to the Riot inner CV is what Jaytap and Klemdotter had him do for their Riots. The Revolt doesn't have the plunge type CV that the Riot has. Riots have Gorilla axles with plunge type CV on both ends. That is what is needed. Gorilla does make their axles for the Revolt which is probably what you would have to buy. I think the gearboxes are $2500 with the long top shaft that is for the Redlines. That isn't with any support bearing, mounts, bump stop to engine or CV mods to the Gorilla axles. You would need to convert to the outboard brakes also.

Ok thanks. I wanted a rough idea what it costs for the RPM box from Dan. I must say he either has enough jobs he doesn't feel it is necessary to return calls or the number on the website is not a good one to reach him because I have tried to reach him at least 20 times and never had him answer or return my call. Maybe I pissed him off leaving so many messages.

Re: Does anyone know how much a new RPM gearbox costs setup with CVs for a Revolt?

Just to add a little info. In my experience Dan is very difficult to get a hold of by phone. I have only talked to him once and the call back came a week after my message that I left him. I have found that he is much more responsive to e-mail. That has been my main form of communication with him and the responses have been typically within 24 hours. His business is a one man show.

As far as costs, I paid $2300 for the RPM Box with the modified CV cups and no brake. As Pilot said you will need Gorilla axles ($800) as the plunge on both ends. The Calipers for the outboard brakes that are typically used are the Wilwood PS-1. There are 2 versions, I used the ones with the larger pistion, 1.120"and they run about $90 per caliper. Then you need rotors, RZR 800 rotors will work, get a set on ebay for $50. You will need hubs, the fireball racing RZR 800 hubs will run $400. You will need to fab brackets to mount the calipers. I bought CORE brake lines as I could have them custom made to the lengths that I needed. They are -3 lines and ran around $150 for both lines and came with banjo bolts.

You will need to be prepared to fab mounts for the gearbox. I have an extra set, I had 3 laser cut when I did the conversion or I can share my cad files and you could have them cut yourself and weld up. I think they cost about $110 per kit when I had mine cut.

You will need the pillow block bearing ($120) and to fab a mount for that too. Figure about $75 - $100 in materials for the mount.

A torque bumper bracket will need to be fabricated to maintain belt tension between the motor and the gearbox.

So, doing the work yourself you can expect to invest over $4000 to do the conversion.

Here are two links where you can see some of the work involved.

Thanks mark. I told my brother several.... no tens of times to buy your gen 2 box as a spare and he just wouldn't get out his wallet because I had the 3 gearboxes already. I sold them off and even took a loss on 2 of them when I sold my revolt. Anyway, Thanks for the info. That gives me a real good idea what it will actually cost. Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!
