Question Suggestions for a bolt in replacement steering box.

Hey guys, I searched the forums for steering boxes and came back with a bunch of dead links from old posts. Does anyone have any recommendations for replacement steering boxes?

I have been looking into the same thing. And while talking to folks I fond these guys that modify the little cheapy boxes we have.

They machine a new lid, thicker. Mill a recess for an steel plate with a 1/8" or so teflon strip fastened (replaceable wear part). 3 bolts in the lid to adjust downward pressure on the a gear rack. This allows you to adjust the steering effort wanted. And get rid of the darting from the upward play. I also think the boxes will last a lot longer if I am not banging the gear and rack together every time I am running.

Some of them do something similar for side pressure also.

I just need to sit down and draw it up and start cutting.
