Redline transmissions

Hi all
Is it true about the transmissions on these Redlines being obsolete?
I am very intrested in buying a revolt, but if I where to buy one and there is no more gear boxes, what would I do with a car with a blown tranny?
I have looked into the RPM gearboxs and just for the gearbox is $2500, then I'd also have do an axle conversion, and make new brackets $$$$$$$$$

I saw someone had a gear box for sell on here is that the only one left to buy?

Thanks, SANDKING out

Re: Redline transmissions

The RPM gearbox is awesome, but not the only option here.

Take your current gears to a machine shop that cuts gears and have a properly hardened set made. Should cost $1000-$1200 for a single set and transmission worries will be over. Of course if you have multiple sets made the "per set" cost will be lower.

There are used ones out there for sale. The one I have for sale is one of the stronger ones and it is almost new with less than 4 hours on it. I also have a brand new one and another used one. Several of the guys I ride with have extra gear boxes. It is a good idea to buy one if you can find one to make sure your car will be operational in the future. I have never broken a gearbox in over 5 1/2 years but I do have 3 friends that have. That is why I have a spare. 2 of my buddies are converting to RPM now. It may be the way to go in the future but as long as there are used or new ones out there for sale you can keep your car going. Wastland Performance has the new gearboxes on his website for sale but it seems to be hard to get a hold of him. They will also be all sold someday. There isn't anymore new gen 1 or gen 2 gearboxes for sale either unless a private party decides to sell an extra one that they have for a spare. It would be a good selling point to have an extra gearbox to go with the car to the new owner. Most of us feel its worth what ever it takes to keep our cars going. Easy-e idea is another option also to have better gears built.

Re: Redline transmissions

Wasteland has limited Redline parts, but good luck getting them. I asked Wasteland to get a gear so I could fix my Redline transmissions gearbox and he said "sadly it would cost him $500.00 in labor to get the gear out of storage " so be very careful getting any parts from Wasteland. I would buy a spare gearbox and be good to go.
