Title/Registration

New to the forum - have a ? on an 07 Revolt. My brother is picking one up in the next couple days. Owner says bill of sale no title?

I have never heard of this except with boats. How does a redline work? like a boat or?

Owner says he never tried to register it.

Re: Title/Registration

So of the vin is there and checks out, the it's the process of using a BOS to get registered and titled.

Also best place to check out DMV, what if they have no record? ( i just read somewhere that this happened to someone)

Re: Title/Registration

Bill of sale won't do it at DMV unless your state is more leniant than most.
Redlines came with a MSO/certificate of origin to bring to the DMV just like most vehicles.
I would ask your local DMV if they have any record of it being registered or stolen.
If It has been previously registered and not stolen then you have a chance at a duplicate title.
Caveat emptor (buyer beware) Good Luck.

Re: Title/Registration

Here in Missouri the DMV said that they do not title Revolts. RZR's do not get titled either. It is just the law HERE. My Revolt did come with a MSO and if the seller does not have that I would not buy it. I can title mine if I want to if I would decide to make it street legal but that is the only reason I am required to.

In Oregon we used to have to title all off road vehicles but that law was changed several years ago. Now all we have to do is bring in the vin no. and purchase a off road sticker for it. They are available at most motorcycle dealers and I have never been asked to see the vehicle. It has made it easy for thieves to actually use what they steel. All these permit or sticker paper work goes back to the state but I doubt if any one is checking to see if all these vehicles are legal. They don't have time for them, that's why we don't have to title them, no time to deal with it.

Re: Title/Registration

Picked up the revolt. Mike from RRP huge help walking me through the deal. Turns out its a 2008. Have two bill of sales. The original owners and this purchase. It also turns out the owner works for the law enforcement, so our minds were at ease.

On the flip side, my brother passed so I picked up the revolt. The price was pretty decent and left room for some upgrades.
