Re: RPM GearBox Pictures/Info

Does the RPM box have a live axle design or is it a differential set-up.

If you mean is it a spool, with no differentiation allowed by a/the "differential" (rear gear case) or lack of a differential, then yes.

If you mean is it a straight axle or solid axle, a non independent suspension, like on the rear of a truck or Jeep, left side goes up right side goes down, then no.
I get it now. It's the same as the Redline box only a lot tougher. That looks like one WELL built piece.

Exactly like Dessert Fox said or how you put it. "Just like the Redline but STRONGER"

I am curious if it will fit with the turbo. Looking for the first one to try it.

Re: RPM GearBox Pictures/Info

It should fit the RPM gearbox is no bigger than the stock Redline gearbox, but the brake rotor and caliper are on the right side of the gearbox right under the exhaust. I'm not sure if you need that area with the turbo install.

Re: RPM GearBox Pictures/Info

If it's no taller than the stock gearbox then the only thing I see that would be a problem would be the turbo support would have to be modified. Also on the XL the rear mount would be different than the Revolt since it is wider in that area. Jeff, I called and emailed Dan with no response so maybe you could answer a couple questions. What kind of lead time is there if I ordered one? What gear ratio did you go with yours and is the rear braking more effective now that the brake is mounted on the mid shaft? Also, could you possibly post some detailed pictures of the front and rear mounts.
Thanks, Mike

Re: RPM GearBox Pictures/Info

My raitio is 10:1. All I can say about contacting Dan is keep trying. It took us several months to get our boxes but Dan reworked the gearbox installing a brake on the intermediate shaft, made mounts, and axles. We had to do lots of other things like take them a car get them alignment tools, etc, etc... This was also only fitted on the Revolt to the best of my knoweledge. I don't think this mount will work on the XL or the Riot.

Re: RPM GearBox Pictures/Info

Thanks for your work on this & taking the time to document it.

I for one would like to know how is the rear of an XL different from a standard revolt.
If the primary to secondary has the same measurement. Meaning it is in the same spot.
I so far, based on the pictures, cant see a difference in the back of the cars, cage wise.
Jetrench said its wider. Where is it wider?
How is it different? & why wouldn't the Revolt mount kit not work?
