GSXR conversion?

I have a Revolt that is in kind of tough shape. Kid let it sit outside for quite a while after the tranny blew... I also have a crashed GSXR that still runs, but the frame is tweaked and its not really worth fixing...

Thinking about putting the two bad investments together...

What do you guys think?

Re: GSXR conversion?

That would be very fast. would you consider selling the Revolt? if the engine and frame are good it is worth something.

Thank you Red Rock powersports, Harmon Racing Cells, Blackmore Sign's and T's, Psychoholic Racing, Lucas Oil Products and 777 Race Cars.

The frame is good and the machine isn't in that bad of shape, but the kid left it outside so the seat is cracked up and it is kind of faded. I did get some new body parts so that should work out. I kind of want to put it together so I have two machines and my buddies can come with me riding. . .

Now that is something I have thought about it will fit really tight due to the angle of the cylinders most likely need the Jeffco or Rpm gearbox to get reverse I would really like to see this come to life and fit and work correctly

Re: GSXR conversion?

I was working up to doing the same thing on my Revolt til I bought my Turbo XL this week. Like Miker said because of the angle of the cylinders it would be avery tight fit. I determined that the rear frame would have to be extended quite a bit to get the motor in and have the correct chain length. It would be cheaper than a turbo though. If I ever blow up the Weber in my XL I will probably go with a GSXR or Hayabusa since it just may fit in the XL without too much work.

Re: GSXR conversion?

What would I do for essentially a "rear end" ? I have seen pictures and it looks like a simple piece, but any idea where I would get one? I know it is a tight fit, but I don't think it is as tight as you might think... I would be eliminating the Gear box and going to a chain and sprockets yeah I would loose reverse, but that is a minor side effect. Us young bucks still have good backs

Re: GSXR conversion?

You can buy a reverser. There is a couple outfits online building long travel single seat buggies with those engines and all the parts they use are available from them. It just takes money and a welder. Go for it.

Yeah there are some good ones in there... I spent plenty of time checking out the rear ends and bumpers
