Steering/Shaft Quickener size/style

I assume both the steering u-joints are 3/4 inch 36 spline one end and smooth on the other. I know this is true for the lower one that attaches to the steering box; because I had it apart to phase the steering shaft. Can anyone tell me if the upper one is the same?
I need to add a steering quickener and want the right one.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Steering/Shaft Quickener size/style

The steering box is 5/8" - 36 spline at the box and 3/4" smooth on shaft side. Note the last page on my steering build for a list of parts used on my Riot:

Re: Steering/Shaft Quickener size/style

It will work depending on your steering shaft angles. My setup is on a Riot and adding the third u-joint was a must for proper u-joint angles (a u-joint on both sides of the quickener).

You might also consider a steering quickener that will allow you to change ratios. The 2:1 may be some seriously hard turning, so having the option to go down to 1.5:1 or so should be considered. Remember, the increased steering effort will be closely proportional to the ratio change of the quickener, so make sure you can live with that. A 2:1 quickener will roughly double your current steering effort.

Re: Steering/Shaft Quickener size/style

Thanks easy-e I think I can handle twice as hard steering. I know it will be a bitch at slow turns and turn arounds but should give great feel at speed on the fast trails I ride. Once its done and if it's too much I can always go to the 1.5:1 box. What's another 100 bucks and quick replacement. Im starting with a used box from member desert dunner he sold me for a great price.
