clutch wgts

These comet wgts are a bunch of crap. I didn't know I was going to have to buy them by the dozen. Has anyone else had problems other than 4 by nut?
I can't switch to a Theam clutch just yet so does anyone know of after market clutch wgts?

The wgts are breaking. 5 so far, all in the same place, right at the base of the narrow part. On two different clutches.

Re: clutch wgts

Two things come to mind. Your spring being too strong or your shaft being scarred and not letting the spider slide freely. These open clutches have increased wear in rocky locations.

Re: clutch wgts

Just for the record I broke all 4 of mine at the same time due to abuse. I came off a jump doing about 45 or 50 and let out of the throttle. I hit the ground with just enough rpm to keep clutch engaged but a good 3k below where it needed to be. Landing drove the belt hard into the driven and snapped all 4 weights at once. I haven't had a problem since that time.

And mine all broke exactly where yo described it.
