Super Trapp Exhaust

Here is a Super Trapp muffler I installed. Kept the 360* loop. Replaced muffler for muffler. It sounds good. Thought I would share a couple of pics. Will be testing on Thanksgiving weekend at the dunes.

Re: Super Trapp Exhaust

One note of caution, I have that exact same supertrapp on my Revolt. And I had it mounted the same way. Within about an hour in a race it broke where the bracket is welded to the body of the muffler. Both welds broke and the exhaust worked the springs loose and fell off. I ended up taking two large hose clamps, cutting two sets of slots in the braket that broke, and tightened it all together. It has worked great and has not come loose. Below is a picture of how I did it. It might not be the prettiest setup, but it works!

You might want to do this prior to leaving for the dunes.

Re: Super Trapp Exhaust

Hey Four by,

I run the same set up with the shortened pipe. I like it alot. Have you done any disk testing? I am running 8 right now but, we have not tried any other number. It seems to run good but, maybe it could run better. Your thoughts?

Thanks, Rick Dude

Re: Super Trapp Exhaust

Right now I am running a full boat of disks....some 12 or more. I like it. For desert racing I want wide open flow. And it breathes good at 8k rpm. I haven't tried lesser number of disks.

Re: Super Trapp Exhaust

I guess I should have added that I have once run this "open header'ed" when my exhaust fell off during a race and it ran like CRAP! I could definately tell a difference on power in the middle and low end of the range. I haven't tried lesser numbers of disks. And I think I have 12 disks in there now. I am able to push it to 8.5k here in the desert altitudes. Seems like it could go more, though, and get there quicker.
