NGK spark plugs

Here's a new thread to discuss Spark Plugs

The Weber engine comes stock with Champion RC7YC

Red Rock Rails changed mine out to NGK BKR7E. There are some other choices, in the brand of plugs, you can use.

These are all standard copper core plugs.
NGK BKR7E
Denso K22PR-U
Autolite 3922
Splitfire TP392B

There are some Iridium plugs too, but I don't know if its OK to use them.

I ran across this web page. It shows how to read the colors of spark plugs.
NGK Spark Plugs USA

The service manual (E-3) says to gap the plugs at .030" to.036" ( .76 to .91 mm)Be sure to use some graphite grease or Anti-seize, on the threads and torque to 19 ft.-lbs. (27 Nm ).

I have over a thousand miles on mine. They look fine. With your Turbo set up, you'll want to watch them closer. You have higher combustion temps and pressures.
Remember to put Anti-seize compound on the threads, before installing them. This will stop them, from welding themselves in.

I will check them after 500 miles for sure. That is wierd, I thought they installed lower compression pistons and valves with the kit to accommodate the turbo. I will have to look into that just for my own sake.
