Thermostat?

Been riding the revolt the last few weekends in 90+ degree weather. My temp light comes on 5-10 min into the ride. I'm thinking my thermostat is bad. Has anyone used the 160 stat in place of the stock 180? Also I am trying to locate a 12" fan kit but can't get redrock to call me back. Any suggestions

Does your radiator fan come on at 180 deg? It should come on and go off at about 170 deg. You need a water temp gauge. Some of our cars had bad wiring connectors to the fan plug in. We just take out the thermostat and they run just fine. Just buy a 12" fan from Silicone Intakes or on e-bay and cut out the 10" shroud out to 12". The fans are usually $25 to $35.

Re: Thermostat?

No thermostat in any of the 3 I maintain. No issues as well.

Re: Thermostat?

Rob ... I called you back and spent over and hour with you on the phone and even gave you the part number of the fan the factory used. I also told you to cut you shroud open like pilot mentioned.. Sorry for the delayed response.

Mike
