revolt idle problem

Hi I have a revolt with 1000 miles on it and ever since I bought it it wont hold an idle. I have to keep my foot on the gas to idle. It runs great just wont idle. I have tried adjusting the throttle cable with no luck. I dont see a idle air control valve like on a regular car. The throttle bodies have been cleaned as well as the map sensor. Whatelse could it be? thanks

Re: revolt idle problem

There is an idle speed adjustment screw on the throttle body end on the throttle cable. It has a jam nut and an allen head screw. Look for it, it is there..............

Re: revolt idle problem

There are also idle air screws on each throttle body. One is not accessible with the throttle bodies on (it's between the throttle body and the motor). Other possibilities are bad/partially clogged injector, low fuel pressure, weak coil.

Re: revolt idle problem

Ok it has the idle speed screw with the jam nut. I pulled the seat and found it. It has blue paint on it and doesnt look like its ever been messed with. Ill go ahead and try lostening the jam nut and see if I can adjut the idle up and report back.

Re: revolt idle problem

I had the same issue when I got my first revolt. I replaced the mapp sensor and it ran great. My in-laws have a riot so I was able to borrow the mapp sensor off it to isolate that that was the problem (Mikes idea from RRP). It started doing it again and I had to clean the sensor every few hours. Narrowed it down to the uni filter. I cleaned the filter and must have over oiled it and the that's what was causing my issues. Not sure if that helps but just my experience.

Clean or replace the map sensor.
