Another Map sensor issue - need help

Hello Everyone,
I have been having issues with my map sensor as to were I have pulled it out multiple times to clean it, with alcohol as stated in the manual. but it still keeps acting up, even if its clean. When its on, the car iddles good, but when accelerating it runs super rich and at speed it bogs down as if there was no fuel pressure. I hooked up my laptop with the weber program and it indicates that everything is ok, but it still has that issue.

When I disconect my map sensor, the car runs great as if there was no issue. could my map sensor be defective even if the program does not indicate a problem? or is there something else that could be making the map sensor to act that way?

what do you guys think? thanks in advance.

Re: Another Map sensor issue - need help

I have fowled a Map sensor myself, usually only getting a few cleanings out of them. I had them act fine at idle unplugged as well. Replace it and if your running a K and N air filter, be careful amount how well you oil it! Too much oil is always a great way to foul a Map!

Check the ohm readings as per the service manual to see if both the temp and the pressure sides are good. The Weber program sometimes will show everything is good if the check engine light is not flashing. Sounds like you may have a plugged fuel filter issue.

Re: Another Map sensor issue - need help

thanks pilot, i will check the ohm readings.
I had recently changed the fuel filter.

the funny thing is that when I tested the car with the MAP sensor unpluged the car worked great as if there was no problem, like normal. but when i plugged it back in, it would act up again.
