Smile This should make it breathe.

This is what we came up with to replace the restrictive stock intake. Two 3 1/2 by 4 inch K&Ns with a K&N breather filter for the oil tank. The outerwears have not been delivered yet. Headed to the dunes at Florence OR this weekend. Can't wait to see how it goes.
The paddles are Sand Tires Unlimited 26X12X12 with a comp cut. We left the #2 paddle.

That should work great.
The Outerwears are worth their weight in Gold!

Here's some photos of my intake system.

Re: This should make it breathe.

I decided to mock your setup for my Riot Klemdotter. Thanks for sharing the idea!! I like the straight shot idea!! That said, be really careful my friend!! I run the K&N full intake boox on my RZR-S. At Glammis the sand was so fine that the outerware looked clean but the pleats on the filter were so packed you couldn't tell it was pleated!! No kidding, it looked flat, the sand went right through the prefilter!! If the sand from the wheels throws sand anywhere near that direction I would recommend you build a deflector of sorts!!

Re: This should make it breathe.

Ronnie,
Your point about the sand is well taken. We have thought about that problem, although the sand at the coast in Oregon is not as fine as the Glamis stuff. We also ride at the dunes in St. Anthony Idaho. The seat does provide quite a bit of protection to the air cleaners mounted in this manner, but we will definitely be watching it closely. If this becomes a real problem, I may go to a setup similar to Bearfoots intake system. I think I have figured out how to route two 2 1/4 inch silicone intake tubes up to the area above the motor so I can still use two air cleaners.
thanks,
Scott

Re: This should make it breathe.

Hey guys,

This is the intake that we built. I think it may have messed up the programming or somthing as the car seems to run very rich now. Please let me know if you get good results as I have been trying to hunt down my lack of performance for some time. It was a bad move on my part making changes to the clutch, intake and exhaust all at the same time. I look forward to hearing about your results. Thanks

Re: This should make it breathe.

Rickdude,
Check your MAP sensor. Is it plugged in all he way or it could be contaminated.
Mine came unplugged and it wouldn't idle very well and it got bad gas milage.

Redline's software should show you if the sensor is working.

Re: This should make it breathe.

PM Red Rock Rails, Mike knows what you'll need.
The ECU has a serial port, so there is a cable needed.

I've had the same thing happen, with sand packing the filter. Thats why I put mine up so high. It seems to stay cleaner and pulls in cooler air.
