Turbo XL Build

Been ordering parts and gettin ready to turbo my new/used Revolt XL. Thanks to all the folks who have done this and posted, as well as Pilot and TSR for some pointers and other help. As I don't have a clue much more than a foggy notion what I'm doing I wanna post this build for one very specific reason, which is, that you dudes in the know feel free to slow me down and set me straight if you catch me doing something retarded! Thanks in advance.

I'm building out a Queen 800 Terminator with a Garrett turbo. It'll have two stage (flip switch) boost and a Frozenboost water to air intercooler. Running a 50 amp Powermaster Denso mini race alternator good for short 20,000 rpm bursts. Hoping to get 210 hp out of this. Already designing a wheelie bar....

Re: Turbo XL Build

Hey Ron, while you have that thing stripped down you might want to consider adding another bar on the sides like the regular Revolts. I hate not having them. I will add them this winter during off season. Without them it seems it would be real easy for something to get into the cockpit. Cannot wait to see that beast in OK.

Re: Turbo XL Build

Okay I'm in crunch time. Haven't updated in a bit because I sell cold water in hell. Just kidding!! I own an AC company in North Texas and we are on track to break the record for hottest summers ever recorded. I've had to play at my real job and nights have been hell. It's 90 degrees at midnight.

I also went head and bought me a welder and have been teaching myself to weld to finish this. It's a biotch not being able to weld and doing stuff like this. Everything is here, except my Elka shocks for the rear and my radiator. Just have to get all them parts on it. I'll have some update photos by Sunday night.

Yeah that is what Mike said, but, he thought you would not be getting the XL done in time. My brother will have his XP so you won't be alone. Those things run pretty darn good though. I have been impressed by his. Rougher ride for the driver but is holding up well. I sure hope you get it done. I am curious to see if you can transfer all that power and make a huge gain over the 130hp. Hope you get it done. 4 weeks!!!!! This is worse than waiting for Christmas morning as a kid.

Re: Turbo XL Build

Made some major progress in the last few days(or nights I should say). Got the intercooler plumbed in for air, still have to plumb the water. Turbo waste gate and exhaust flange done and plumbed with @ 18" of exhaust tube and O2 sensor bung. Upsized 3/8 inch gas lines run to fuel pump. Turbo oil supply and return done. Down to electronics, alternator, battery mounting and suspension.

Looking good, I've got one of those inline precoolers that I didn't use on mine I wish I would have known you needed, I would have made you a smokin deal on it. Are you going to add some stainless reinforcement to your header? My buddy Major Mayhem did and its holding up so far.
