27" or 28" tires

Here is my issue. With the turbo I am still on the limiter at top speed and looking for more gearing. I can and am going to a custom cut helix but I love how fast I get from 0 to 75 mph and do not want to loose too much of that. So I am wondering if anyone has put larger rear tires on their car?

Re: 27" or 28" tires

are you specifically talking about paddles for the sand or just tires?

I got 27x12x12 bighorns on mine...
and I dont think they have put me on a disadvantage at glen helen races at start-off, against the itp holeshots... even tough with their size and weight Im usually in front or just behind the holeshot...

but when it comes to corners, thats another thing.. without forgetting to mention & dont have a sway-bar.... I can corner, but they dont slide around the corners as good as the itp holeshots...

but you with a turbo... who cares about cornering?

Id say you got the green light with the 27... they can handle it...
now its a matter to find out about the 28....

Re: 27" or 28" tires

If you are talking paddles I can get you 28x12-12 Skat Traks. I have already had a set made for someone. Check the pic below. The left one is a std buff 26" and the right one is a full buff 28".

Do you notice any more top end with them?

well, its hard to tell..
I have never used another tire size...
but im guessing, according to the math... you are supposed to...

but in glen helen when comparing them at the races... it has always been a close match, because we are hitting a strait and then suddenly we hit a turn.. kind of hard to tell, we have been really close lately...

but I do think that the majority of the time I have beaten them in the start, but then I loose it in a turn.... lol
what do you guys think? (other glen helen racers)...
