desert race in barstow on April 3rd

would anybody else be interested in running this race with me? i just talked to the promoter, if we have enough cars we can run by ourselves or with the utv's. it will be 25 mile loops, and we will be racing sportsman class. it's $200 if you pre-enter or $225 post-entry let me know.

I might be interested in that! I could also get all the forums together to make it happen if we need a full class

I would be interested. I just have to figure out if I have the time to do it. If I do, I think I'm in. Will get back with you in a day or two.

I, too, am interested in tech rules. I don't have a firewall or the "proper" rear amber and blue lights. So would be good to know if that is required.

2 rear ambers need to be min 3" each. blue light i'm trying to find out still, also trying to find out if the stock tank will be legal.

Re: desert race in barstow on April 3rd

I breifly read through their tech rules for their buggies. Only seems to call out one amber and a working break light. Didn't see anything about a blue light. They also call for the battery to be in a contained box. There are specifics about the fuel cell vent line as well abour routing overhead and then below the tank (which makes no sense to me because a properly built fuel cell is supposed to have a rollover valve in it).

These are ones that I can think of that are potentially above what local "run what you brung" kind of racing organizations require.

But let us know if you have some specifics for the UTV class. Also good to know how far they will run the UTVs. I would want to run the 225 that they are specifying for certain classes.

Re: desert race in barstow on April 3rd

i found out that we will actually be a pro class so entry is $360 if paid by the 20th of this month or $400at the race, also it will only be 5 laps totaling 125miles.

i'm not sure if i'm going to be able to make it but i'm hoping i can. i still need to get a fuel cell installed, the rear lights, and a rear bumper.

jay you might want to wait for the longer racer since the entry fee is the same at all races.

if i'm going to make i'll be sure to let you know the raise in entry is going to kill me so we will see.

Yeah, I'm going to pass on this one. Any idea what class number we would be? I am looking at their June race of 400 miles. But they cut laps for specific classes. I'm guessing we would be the 4 laps of 50 miles each! Sucks! I want to run something in the 350 or more range! I know...........I'm glutton for punishment!
