Sxs race in utah

I have been working on putting on a race next year for SxS in the delle area.
I had a meeting with a few people from the BLM today. Delle is a no go due to several reasons 90% of them being it will cost a lot and I mean a lot of money to do a race there. Even then it would be on the north side so Delle is a bust.
BUT donít lose hope. The field officer over the knolls area has no problems with a race in that area. I am going to redo all my applications and operation forms and start over. I need to gps a course any feedback on what type of terrain you guys would like? The Knolls has it all.
Mark your calendars boys and girls March 16th 2013
So feedback.
How do you feel about a knolls race? This would be a course set for sxs not dirt bikes.
Miles? Im still thinking 30ish mile loop with each machine running two heats. (can be different driver each heat) but im open on this
Stock machine friendly.
Any other suggestions or feedback welcome.

Do you think you will allow the Revolts to race too? They are 64" wide.

Knolls are west of slc off I80

This will be a sxs race so we will have a spot for the riot.
Thanks, Jake

Re: Sxs race in utah

So this is out by the Salt Flats?
No way to open it up to Pilots and Revolts assigned to their own class?
I am interested in bringing my Riot up there. Send me the rules when you have them in place.

Yes it is but about 40 miles east of the Bonneville salt flats.

It's my race so I could open the class up to what ever but realistically I have a time frame I need to follow so the classes will all have a limited number of entries per class. In order to fit a new class I would have to make the others smaller. And honestly I don't see a demand for a single seat mini buggy class outside of you and I'm not going to modify an existing class for a single person. BOR did the change the rules so one person could race thing a bunch and it didn't work out in the long run IMO. It would take a minimum of 5 100% committed single seat guys for me to open a class up for them. Even then my race is geared more toward the weekend warrior having a good time with friends hence the SXS, a single seat may as well be a dirt bike IMO.

My rule book is finished and will be posted on my site by the end of October with all other race info. Utahoffroadadventure.com

If you really want to race that area around the end of April the Utah desert foxes do a dirt bike race, usually 300+ bikes and they do allow your style of buggy. It will be a more rough whooped out course then I will have since their main focus is bikes but fun in a rig setup for desert racing.

Over 50 letters going out to local bushiness who's customers are fans and participants of this upcoming event. Hopefully a few of them will show us some return support.

Re: Sxs race in utah

In an effort to stay married I will be selling shirts to help cover part of the cost of this race. I am already into it a couple hundred bucks and haven't even done anything yet. lol

Watch for them for sale soon on our web site.

Re: Sxs race in utah

Any chance I could get a gps point to plug in? I'm from Seattle but me and the wife would bring the riot down if it's not to far...

And what site will you be selling the shirts at?
