The inspiration for the FD lites series (PICS)

These pics are from around 1985 where I was racing in the ARA (all terrain racing association). I started in a stock FL350 and then moved onto a car called the Loma Mfg. SCORPION it had a 440 chaparral motor (the yellow car). These races were awesome all moto powered no looking over the shoulder for a TT or Class 1. We have a chance to do it again, I just need some of you redline guys to come out and race with Formula Desert lites!

The pictures remind me of my District 38 days back in 1985-86 racing in El Centro and Plaster City. (The called it Fudpucker Racing Back then, and maybe they still do) I raced a Quad and took 2nd in my class in my first race. It was a blast.

Sandracer1, Pack up your Missouri Mule and get out here .

What are the entry fees going to be? Is there going to be anything to win like a trophy or cash.

I imagine these are loop races. So how big are the loops normally on average?

Mike

I raced in Fudpucker races in the late 80's in my Scorpion. Otis Fudpucker died and a group called MDR took over his races for the cars and the bikes run separate with AMA. MDR got shut down after that bad accident. For the December 18th event it will be $125.00 that includes an IRC tracker (not the live update type). As far as payback that will come in the 2011 series, we are talking about $50 on top of the $125 and that would go to payback maybe $100 depending on what the racers would like. Courses are usually 30 mile loop or so at this time but we have 108 mile loops and 50 mile loops in some awesome terrain. I would like to see a few races next year come up in length from 100 mile total to maybe 300-400 but only if you think these revolts can take it. I am planning a trip Nov 20th to show people the types of courses we have to offer racing in the FDL series.
