Re: Need Oil Breather Bypass

I just bought a breather from the K&N website and used a simple L-bracket to mount it to the frame somewhere else. I was redoing my air filters and needed to move it as my new intake had no place for it.... Also, I cut the bottom out of a water bottle and made a shield for it to protect it from water and mud....

Re: Need Oil Breather Bypass

Heres a pic of what I did. I just used some 5/8" oil line and Uni makes a 5/8" oil free breather. I ran It out behind the oil cooler so If I roll the hot oil will not leak out near me.Racing mods 003.jpg

Here's what I did. These are VW crank case breathers. I had to make a shim to get them to clamp to the 1.25" bar. If there is any overflow, it will drain back in, after every thing cools off.

I would like to get one for the radiator overflow too.

Re: Need Oil Breather Bypass

I got mine from www.Appletreeauto.com it was $39.30+shipping. But Mike at RRR can get them too. Send him a PM.
The mounting hole is for 1 1/2" tube. So I had to make a shim out of black poly pipe.
If its a little loose, flat file the face of the clamps. Take off about .010" on each side.
Make sure to clean out the treads, for the mounting holes. I used a stainless socket head bolt because the bolts that came with it rust. Also, use Anti-Seize compound, so that you can get off later, if need be.

The inlet is 1/4" NPT, so you will need the right hose barb. I got mine from Lowes.
You can see in the Photo above, that the two have different sizes of hose attached. Small hose = trans, large hose = oil breather.

Re: Need Oil Breather Bypass

I just installed these on my revolt, I used a hard rubber shim under the brackets for mounting, worked well.I had to re-route the harness for the fan on mine, took 2 seconds.Like them alot, took 3 weeks to get them from APLEETREE AUTOMOTIVE though.

Sorry that took so long. I looked around on the web, there's other places that carry them too. Google "oil breather with catch tank".

Oh, it was no bigge-I was in no rush-I should have made that clear-my apologies. They actually called me immediately to notify me of the out of stock status too so my experience with them may not be the normal 1.
