Dual rear brake update

After changing to outboard rear brakes on my Revolt I felt the braking was better but not as much better as I had expected. The rumor around here was that our master cylinder was the wrong size for our cars. I was told that the piston size was 1". The Polaris XP master cylinder is 3/4" so I decided to try one (e-bay for $37 bucks). Before putting it on I noticed that the brake lines were reversed for front and rear compared to the Redline. All other master cylinders that I looked at were like the Polaris. So I reversed the brake lines on my Revolt only to find that it didn't make any difference. I then installed the XP 900 master cylinder with minor fabricating. I now have better braking than I have ever had in the last 6 years with this car. I then took the Redline master cylinder apart to check the piston size to find it was the same 3/4" as the Polaris. I'm puzzled to say the least. All I know right now is that I can stop way better.

Re: Dual rear brake update

We just got back from a 4 day run at the Florence dunes and I confirmed that my brakes now work like they should. Way better than ever before. The Polaris XP900 master cylinder was the answer for my car combined with the Polaris 800 outboard brakes.
