4 injector new fuel rails

Wish we could have made it to the dunes to run with the Oregon boys. Please accept my apology.
We were busy trying to finish this project. Added 2 more injectors and built new fuel rails.
Saturday we hauled it to Dobeck Performance, Matt rewired the fuel controller for the 4 injector system. We are excited.

Re: 4 injector new fuel rails

We all looked forward to meeting up with you guys also. Those fuel rails and extra injectors look nice. Let us know how it performs. Maybe we can plan another trip next year so we can all run together. Nice work Tony!

Re: 4 injector new fuel rails

Looks great Tony. Is the second rail for fueling while under boost?

Re: 4 injector new fuel rails

Eric,
Yes they are for boost. We were running out of fuel with the stock injectors at our target boost level with 4bar fuel pressure.
We are now running the small injector(yours) as our primary and the turbo injector as our auxiliary.

Re: 4 injector new fuel rails

That's a great idea Tony.
As an interesting side note, the 3 NA cars we brought out to St Anthony's all ran VERY lean. Of course we expected them to run richer coming from sea level to the 5,000ft level. We ended up installing our OEM injectors, cranking up the fuel pressure to 4 bar and nearly maxing out our fuel controllers. As a test, we bought the 110hp turbo injectors (443cc/min) and gave them a go. I ran those at 2 bar and mid-range on the fuel controller and held a nice mid-12's on my AFR. Our best guess is that the ECU is over compensating for the high altitude conditions and de-fueling too much causing the lean condition.

Re: 4 injector new fuel rails

Eric,
Sounds like the testing continues for everyone.
Are you running the 030 or the 042 MAP sensor? We tried the 042 and the AFR was very lean. Went back to the 030.
We were having a rich issue(10afr) around 6000rpm with 5# boost cruise. Matt is putting a clamp on the MAP sensor to eliminate the problem area.

Re: 4 injector new fuel rails

We're still running the 030 map sensor. It was very interesting watching the whole afr mess. Luckily we did sort it out and got the afr in check and had a great time out there!

Hey Tony, I forgot to ask how lean did the 042 sensor put you and what injectors were you running at the time?

Thanks!

Re: 4 injector new fuel rails

Eric,
We were running the Polaris FST injectors with the 042. It was so lean it would hardly run. Was not a good combo.
