Welded Tubing, or is it?

So your thinking of fabricating something for your Revolt or Riot?
Choose your material carefully.

You've heard never use welded tubing for safety cages, frames, etc.
I bought some tubing this weekend and look what I discovered. Cracked welds.

This is 2"x2"x.250"

Check out the Photos.

Re: Welded Tubing, or is it?

Good catch on the cracked welds on the tubing. My buddies and I have been working almost every day on our used revolts we got from ZMR in Phoenix. While measuring the suspension, camber, toe in etc. I found that the distance from the front spindle to the rear radius rod the right side was almost one inch longer than the left. I adjusted the heim joint on the front of the trailing arm to get them close. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Also do you know the correct toe in for the rear? I set the front at 0, but the rear is toed out about one inch. I measured the distance between the rear wheels at the front of the tire and rear of the tire to get this. How would I adjust this. I tried screwing out the rear radius rods, but it did not seem to help. Any suggestions you might have would be great.
Thanks,
Scott

Sorry Bearfoot, I guess I sort of hijacked your thread. I am new to this forum stuff and after looking at my reply I realized it should be in it's own thread.

No problem.
They are sending out some replacement tubing tomorrow. I'm going to clean and check it first thing.

I'm building a tubing bender and it has a 10 ton ram on it. Not to safe with cracked tube!!

Your right, it is a 8 ton ram.
I going to buy dies. I don't have a mill to make them on.
