New Speedometer GPS

My new GPS speedometer from Speedhut they say it will hold up to offroading I had them change the usual 120mph top speed to 80mph it will display odometer/peak speed/time/altitude ect. Easy install and GPS sensor is magnetic.

Re: New Speedometer GPS

Now that is cool. So the speedo runs off GPS input only? It would be nice to get rid of the stock speedo sending unit...

Re: New Speedometer GPS

Yes it runs off the GPS only no need for the stock sensor. I used the power and ground from the stock speedometer and ran one more wire to battery pos. this is required for fast response for the GPS after you have the key off I used a mini fuse holder for circuit protection and so I can remove the fuse when I am not going to ride for awhile (speedhut states that this is a very low current draw)

Re: New Speedometer GPS

I just ordered the 3 3/8 hole size it fits in the stock location the price with shipping was $269.95 it took about 4 days from order date until I received it. Hers a link to the 3 3/8 GPS gauge you can choose colors and add text or logos GPS Speedometers Gauge, Hot Rod Street Gauges Legacy Series by SpeedHut It really only took about 15 min. to install.

Cool, lets us know how it works out. It would be nice to have an accurate gauge.

Re: New Speedometer GPS

Just a few wires I mounted the gps transducer (which is magnetic)to the top of the steering shaft support so its under the plastic and it worked perfect.

Re: New Speedometer GPS

Look at my first post theres a pic of it installed in Riot's dash. As far as wiring I used a deutsch connector and hooked up to the existing factory plug from the stock speedometer.
