Calling all moto powered buggy racers and builders. Formula Desert Lites is officially making a push to bring an exciting and cost effective form of desert racing back to the deserts of Southern California. Formula Desert Lites is promoting several classes of racer. Of course the popular UTV class in its standard form as seen in BITD races is included, but also a STOCK class UTV to bring in those who have yet to get a taste of desert competition. We will have classes for all of the older desert lites and pilot type vehicles as well as classes for the high revving Formula Desert buggies powered by sport bike power plants pumping out in excess of 170hp. These vehicles offer more performance and excitement for the dollar invested than other desert classes. Formula Desert Lites will be in charge of policing its own classes for rules violations through our own tech inspection. This series will be a stepping stone for the future stars of motor-sports, both Casey Mears and Jimmie Johnson started out in stadium lites and Scott Steinberger started his racing career in a Mini-Mag, the big cousin of the Honda Pilot or Odyssey. If you are worried about competing in a smaller vehicle on the course with much larger, faster vehicles, we are running with Alta Vista Events and will be running following the Motorcycles and ATV's. Plans call for our own course and start time as the turnout increases at the races.

FORMULA 1200 (moto buggies up to 1200cc)
FORMULA 800 (moto buggies up to 800cc)
FORMULA LITE (older pilots, Revolts and Trophy Karts)
FORMULA UTV (up to 1000cc sport bike powered UTV)
MOD UTV (same as BITD UTV class motor swaps and single seat allowed)
SUPER STOCK UTV (stock but suspension kits allowed)
STOCK UTV (showroom stock with safety requirements)
