Default Tires?

Could anyone who is running rear sand tires tell me what size you are using?

I'm running 25x10x12 GBC paddle Master tires.
They seem to work OK. A shorter paddle may work better (1.25")

Has any one used the Maxxis Big horns? I keep dinging wheels and I think the 3 ply Carlisle tires can't handle the rocks to well. Big horns are 6 ply. I was thinking of going to 26x12x12 in the rear and 25x10x12 in the front.
I notice that many of the desert race teams are using them.
Suggestions?

I am running the Maxxis Big Horns on the rear, 26x12x12, love them.

Since my RR only has the Polaris 700 ATV engine, I had to do some clutch tweaking after install.

With the Red Line using the Weber engine, you should have plenty of power to spare for the extra weight and rolling resistance of the Big Horns.

10" might be a bit wide for a front tire though. How about the 26x9x12 or the 25x8x12 for the front?

OUCH !
This is my third wheel. This was done by a chunk of asphalt dropped onto the trail. I Missed it with the front, but BAM! Nailed with the rear at 40mph.
I want to get a tougher set of wheels. Anyone have suggestions?

My front rims are are bent all to hell but they still hold air. I would like to find some tougher rims too.

I am running the stock Polaris "chrome" steel rims, after numerous trips to Moab they are still holding up, a few small dings but so far no major bends and dents.

Some other after market rims:

ITP
Douglas

I also found this, a bit expensive though:

RimArmor to prevent damage to your atv rims -- Home

I could not find any reviews on the product.

I am running the Sand Tires Unlimited 26" Sand Blaster. 32 paddle, #2 style paddle on Douglas Black Label wheels. 3" backspacing. I have 25" razors on the front (GBC I think).
Hope that helps.
